Responsibilities

The post holder will undertake assessments, plan and deliver interventions, and work directly with children, young people, and their families to reduce risk and improve outcomes. This includes completing child and family assessments, care planning, risk management, and contributing to decision‑making processes that support children to remain safely within their families wherever possible.

The role requires close partnership working with internal teams and external agencies such as health, education, police, and voluntary sector partners. The post holder will attend and contribute to multi‑agency meetings, child protection conferences, and court proceedings, producing high‑quality reports and maintaining accurate case records in line with statutory requirements.

The role involves applying relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice, including the Children Act, safeguarding procedures, and the Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework.

Qualifications
