We're looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Bank Support Worker to join our services in Hertfordshire.
£13.85 an hour on a zero‑hour contract.
All applicants must be legally eligible to work in the UK by the start of employment. Look Ahead are not able to offer sponsorship.
Within the Hertfordshire patchBank Support Workers may be able to work shifts from five different services all working with Learning Disabilities with a focus on Positive Behaviour Support. They will provide support to customers to help them develop life skills required to meet assessed needs, promote social inclusion, independent living and maximise their choices. Within Learning Disability services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care.
WhatYou'll Do
- Work proactively with other team members to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities.
- Conduct key work sessions that are innovative and engaging to achieve Support Plan goals.
- Ensure ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers, practising positive risk taking.
- Proactively manage risk and safety both in and outside customers’ physical living environment.
- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, providing practical assistance where skills are not yet developed.
- Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate tenant/customer records to professional standards.
- Carry out support duties to enable customer integration into the community, including accompanying to benefits agencies, shopping, college enquiries and public amenities.
- Empower customers to receive entitled services and benefits.
- Engage in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to all Look Ahead policies and procedures.
- Encourage and enable tenants to pay rent and manage rent accounts jointly with the Housing Management team.
- Proactively chase referrals so that properties are filled efficiently.
- Carry out security duties to ensure safety of customers and premises.
- Monitor CCTV throughout the shift.
- Undertake any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as reasonably assigned.

Previous experience providing care or support to vulnerable people, or working in similar organisations, would be an advantage but is not necessary.
