Fire Alarm Service and Commission Engineer
Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Fire Alarm Engineer is responsible for the service, commissioning, and reactive maintenance of fire alarm and security systems. The role ensures that project work is technically compliant, runs smoothly, and is completed on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure new fire alarm safety systems are programmed and commissioned correctly.
- Conduct fire alarm inspection, testing, and servicing to ensure compliance.
- Perform emergency lighting inspection, testing, and servicing in accordance with regulations.
- Carry out reactive maintenance and repair work on fire alarms, emergency lighting, and other safety systems.
- Provide in-hours and out-of-hours reactive call-out services as required.
- Ensure all job sheets and logbooks are accurately completed and updated.
- Raise job sheets for any additional time spent on site.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety regulations and risk assessments.
- Liaise with customers and tenants to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction.
- Ensure sufficient labour and time are allocated for assigned jobs.
- Work with the Electrical Operations Manager and purchasing administrator to source necessary equipment and materials.
