Hard and Soft Landscaping Assistant

As a Landscaping Assistant at the Garden Builders, your job is to make sure the Landscapers and Foreman are able to work as efficiently as possible and can focus on high end finishes. You’ll achieve this by setting up site in the morning, getting electrics and hand tools ready, clearing the way for materials to be brought in, using cement mixers, planting at the end of projects and a variety of others!

This is a role that for the right candidate can aim to progress into more senior role through learned experience and further training.

• 1 year working in Landscaping or a similar physical job. Landscaping is physical and the assistant role requires you to be able to dig, lift, carry and push!
• If you haven’t had a physical job but are a physically active person (think rugby, rock climbing, kayaking, surfing etc) then there is a place on the application form to tell us about it. Otherwise have a look at our temp roles where you can gain some experience
• Ability to follow instructions and complete each task properly that is given to you
• Good communication skills across team members, external trades, clients and designers
• Able to maintain a safe and clean working environment, it is the assistant's job to keep site tidy, not make a mess!
• Ensuring material waste onsite is kept to a minimum, it is the assistant’s job to make sure skips are packed full!
• Maintain in good and safe working order all tools, vehicles, plant, equipment and machinery on site. We’ll maintained tools mean jobs are easier to compete to a high standard

• Good level of spoken English
• UK Driving License
• CSCS Card
• Ability to be flexible and maintain a positive approach when challenges arise
• Must be able to take initiative, e.g. tidy up when you see a mess, put up protection when you see a mess being made
