Job Responsibilities /Objectives
We are seeking an experienced Fibre Splicer with knowledge in fibre blowing, fusion splicing, installation, termination, and testing. The role involves leading site activities, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining health and safety standards across fibre projects.
Splice single-mode, multimode, stranded, and ribbon fibre optic cablesCarry out fibre blowing and assist with cable pulling (including rod and rope work)Lead site teams and report daily progress to the Project ManagerConduct risk assessments and monitor on-site health and safety complianceInstall closures, couplers, ODFs, and cabinetsWork in underground ducts, aerial installations, and internal building environmentsPerform OTDR, ILM, and power meter testingCarry out optical continuity and conformance testingTroubleshoot fibre faults and technical issuesRequired Skills/Experience
Splicing knowledge and backgroundStrong understanding of fibre types (single-mode vs multimode)Knowledge of cable types (CAT3, CAT5, riser, plenum, PVC)Familiar with universal communications colour codesExperience with fusion splicing and testing equipment such as Fujikura, EXFO, Fitel, Sumitomo, GN Net TestAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to travelTickets required (flexible)
