Overview

Trainee Meter Technician – Utilities – East London

• No experience needed. Full training provided with a clear progression path.
• Salary: £28,600 plus £4,000 Bonus. Benefits include a vehicle, enhanced pension, and an excellent overall package.

• Receive full training before visiting meter locations across East London postcode areas.
• Plan routes, take meter readings, and report any issues while delivering excellent customer service.
• Work with a strong focus on electrical work, with the opportunity to train as a HV metering installer or EV specialist.
• Complete a 12-month training program through the Engineering Academy, with ample progression into various roles.
• Travel to customer sites across assigned postcode areas and be provided with a van (including EVs and automatic models).
• After training, work remotely with regular site visits still required.

• Full training provided to become a Meter Data Technician (MDT) with progression opportunities.
• Travel to customer sites across East London areas.
• Opportunity to work with EV vans, including automatic and multi-EV models.
• Clear career progression with the chance to move into electrical, HV metering, or EV specialist roles.

• Open, honest, and driven with a strong desire to progress in their career.
• Previous experience in a field-based or driving role (e.g., delivery drivers or meter readers) is beneficial.
• Comfortable working independently and managing their own schedule.
• Must have a full, clean driving license.
• Enthusiastic, career-focused, and ready to grow within the company.
