Commissioning Engineer - Fire Alarm Systems

Overview

This independent fire alarm systems installer and service provider are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer to join their team, covering London and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning, configuring, and testing fire detection systems to the highest industry standards.

Strong working knowledge of Gent and Advanced fire alarm panels preferable.
Good working knowledge of BS 5839, ideally with certification (FIA, Zzeus etc.), and a full driving licence.

• Carry out system cause‑and‑effect testing and ensure correct operation.
• Produce high‑quality commissioning documentation, reports, and handover packs.
• Support installation engineers with technical guidance where necessary.
• Liaise with clients, site managers, and project teams to ensure smooth delivery.
• Diagnose and rectify commissioning‑related system issues.
• Participate in the call‑out rota (additional payment).

• ECS/CSCS accreditation.
• Experience with other open and closed‑protocol systems.
• Experience in large commercial, industrial, or multi‑site commissioning.

This great opportunity comes with a basic salary between £45,000–£50,000 (depending on skill set) for a 40‑hour week, with door‑to‑door travel, overtime at enhanced rates and a company vehicle.
