Electrician

Position: Electrician (Contract)
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Lighting Electrician to join our team on a short-term contract for a period of one month. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, fault-finding, and certification of emergency lighting systems, ensuring full compliance with current regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Installation, maintenance, and replacement of emergency lighting systems

* Carrying out emergency lighting inspections and testing in line with BS 5266

* Fault finding and rectification of emergency lighting issues

* Completion of test reports, certificates, and compliance documentation

* Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Health & Safety regulations

* Working independently or as part of a wider electrical or facilities team

* Liaising with site managers and clients to minimise disruption during works

Essential Requirements

* Fully qualified electrician (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

* Proven experience working specifically with emergency lighting systems

* Strong knowledge of BS 5266 and relevant electrical regulations

* Valid 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)

* Ability to interpret drawings and specifications

* Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills

* Good communication and record-keeping abilities

Desirable

* 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent

* ECS / CSCS card

* Experience working in commercial or industrial environments

* Own tools and PPE
