Gantry Crane Operator

Joseph Gallagher, the leading UK‑based civil engineering & tunnelling subcontractor, is recruiting a Gantry Crane Operator for our Chessington site.

• Operate travelling or stationary overhead crane to lift, move, and position loads such as machinery, equipment, products, and materials.
• Manipulate or depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to instructions.
• Clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanism.
• Inspect crane for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions.

• Blue CPCS Card – A64 Overhead Travelling Crane (Remote Operated & Fixed Cab Control).
• Knowledge of civil construction practices, lifting plant and equipment.
• Understanding of relevant information relating to different types of lifting accessories, including markings, certificates, and thorough examination reports.
• Knowledge of maintenance, inspection, thorough examination, and testing requirements for lifting equipment and accessories.
