Repairs and Maintenance Officer
This is a great opportunity to join Merton Council and its friendly and committed facilities team. The post holder will be part of a small team of maintenance technicians carrying out minor repairs and day to day maintenance primarily at the Civic Centre in Morden.
You will need to be in possession of a trade qualification in order to fulfil your duties, which include building related repair work, liaison and supervision of external contractors and ensuring works are carried out in a safe and diligent manner.
You will need to be a team player, work with minimum supervision and use your own initiative in identifying and carrying out repair works in a heavily serviced building.
The role is based at the Civic Centre in Morden on a 35 hour working week. You may be required to work at other locations in the borough from time to time, as well as attend site at weekends and out of hours during planned shut-down periods and in emergencies.
Merton Council offers excellent holiday entitlement and a competitive salary and membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
The Civic Centre is very close to Morden Underground Station which is on the Northern Line. We are also a 10-minute walk from Morden Road Tram Stop and both Morden South and South Merton Railway Stations.
