Position Overview
As a Service Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering reliable security solutions to clients across the UK. You'll install, maintain and troubleshoot access control panels, CCTV systems, intruder alarms and intercom systems, ensuring clients receive consistent, high-quality service. Your work will directly contribute to protecting people and assets, whilst supporting the organisation's reputation for technical excellence and professional service delivery.
Responsibilities- Install and configure access control panels, CCTV systems, intruder alarms and intercom systems at client sites
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure systems operate reliably
- Respond to reactive callouts, diagnosing and resolving technical faults promptly and professionally
- Perform site surveys and risk assessments to identify security requirements and system vulnerabilities
- Provide technical support to clients and colleagues, explaining system functionality and troubleshooting steps clearly
- Complete accurate service documentation, recording all work undertaken and system performance data
- Participate in an out-of-hours callout rota to support emergency response requirements
- Maintain electrical wiring standards and safety compliance throughout all installation and maintenance work
- Proven experience installing and maintaining CCTV and access control systems
- Competence in electrical wiring and security equipment troubleshooting
- Current ECS or CSCS registration with in-date certification
- BS7858 or BPSS security clearance (compulsory – the organisation will conduct this)
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Certifications in Lenel, Gallagher, C Cure, Avigilon or IPAF (desirable)
- Salary of £35k‑£47k per annum depending on your experience
- Paid travel and approved overtime
- 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off (increasing by one day per year up to 27 days maximum)
