We are seeking a dedicated Security Manager with a focus on campus experience and security to lead and enhance our front-of-house and security operations across multiple sites.

Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a dedicated Security Manager to ensure our campus remains safe, efficient, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors alike.
Our Campus Experience & Security Team operates 24/7, 365 days a year, delivering safety, vigilance, and exceptional customer service to all our customers.
This role is offered on a permanent, full-time, 35‑hour week contract, with a salary of £44,247 rising to £50,379 per year.
ResponsibilitiesAs Security Manager you will shape service delivery, manage teams, and drive improvements supporting the University’s strategic goals – making a real impact on the community’s day‑to‑day experience.
Your key duties will include managing change, ensuring compliance with forthcoming Legislation, and building partnerships with neighbouring higher education institutions.
QualificationsProven hands‑on management experience in a fast‑paced environment; initiative‑driven and capable of providing expert advice on security matters.
Track record in creating a culture of exceptional delivery and managing change. Strong communication skills essential for extensive partnership work.
Salary and benefits£44,247 rising to £50,379 per annum, Grade 7 on the College’s London Pay Scale including a consolidated London Weighting Allowance.

ContractPermanent contract, full‑time 35 hours per week, on‑site based Mon‑Sun (5 out of 7 days) with flexible start and finish time.
