About

the role

Control Risks is seeking a tactically strong Travel Security Operations Coordinator to run day-to-day travel-security operations. You will produce timely risk assessments and traveller briefings, monitor global events and coordinate incident responses, and own end-to-end journey management for high/extreme-risk travel including managing third-party security and travel vendors to agreed SLAs. This is a hands-on role for a diligent, detail-driven operator with excellent stakeholder engagement and a proven ability to collaborate across all security teams.

Responsibilites
  • Reports to the Global Travel Security Program Manager
  • Lead the operational travel-security response to regional events and incidents, coordinating with internal security partners, from initial triage through resolution and after-action review.
  • Produce timely, actionable travel-security risk assessments and tailored briefings that mitigate safety and security risks to travellers.
  • Monitor regional developments that could impact our people and operations, and share concise commentary, trend analysis, and data-driven insights with stakeholders.
  • Conduct geopolitical assessments and recommend updates to country/city travel risk ratings in line with the prevailing security environment and internal standards.
  • Own the end-to-end journey management program for high-risk travel, conducting itinerary reviews, applying own high-risk environment knowledge to shape practical mitigations, coordinating ground security and traveller accountability, and managing the relationship with specialist third-party security and travel vendors to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Assess hotels and ground-transport providers for security suitability; maintain and revalidate the security-approved accommodations/transport list with documented criteria and corrective actions.
  • Respond promptly to emergency support requests from travelling employees across all risk tiers.
  • Deliver intelligence-led (OSINT) monitoring and analysis - set PIRs, triage sources, and publish concise notifications/alerts that inform risk ratings, traveller briefings, and incident response; scope to expand as required.
  • Contribute to program SOPs, playbooks, and tooling; identify process gaps and opportunities to automate; support travel-risk training and awareness for all business travellers.
  • Maintain accurate logs, dashboards, and metrics (e.g., response times, case volumes, journey outcomes, vendor performance) to inform leadership decisions
  • 2/3 in corporate Travel Security, GSOC/Intelligence, or international risk operations within a global organisation or security provider.
  • Global situational awareness and a strong understanding of, or keen interest in, geopolitics, international security, and current affairs.
  • Direct experience coordinating high-risk travel (pre-trip planning through post-trip review), including ground security assessments and vendor tasking.
  • A proven proficiency of OSINT analysis and the full intelligence cycle as well as the ability to effectively compile security risk assessments and briefings.
  • A strong understanding of traveler duty of care and travel risk management best practice, in alignment with industry standard ISO 31030.
  • A bias for action, excellent attention to detail, and a calm, professional demeanour in fast-moving situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written ability with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to travel when required across the region and respond to emergencies or other tasks after-hours as operational needs demand.
  • Competencies around writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) is a must.
