ISH Venues is part of International Students House, a vibrant residential, social and cultural centre located close to Regent’s Park in central London. Through our venues and our sister brand 229, we generate vital income that supports our charitable work and scholarship programmes.

Our venue offers eight flexible meeting and event spaces hosting a wide range of clients including charities, local authorities, corporate organisations, live music events, weddings and social celebrations.

The Role

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Meetings and Events Sales Coordinator to join our Conference and Events team. This role is central to driving venue sales by responding to enquiries, building client relationships and converting enquiries into successful events.

You will manage the sales journey from initial enquiry through to event handover, ensuring clients receive an exceptional service and that events are delivered seamlessly. The role also involves financial administration, reporting and maintaining strong relationships with both new and returning clients.

Key Responsibilities Sales
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets through strong conversion of enquiries.
  • Respond to incoming enquiries, prepare tailored proposals and conduct venue show‑rounds.
  • Negotiate pricing, prepare contracts and convert conference and event enquiries into confirmed bookings.
  • Maintain accurate booking data and client communications within the booking system.
  • Support pricing strategies, promotions and marketing initiatives alongside the Sales Manager.
  • Attend networking events, exhibitions and familiarisation trips where appropriate.
  • Manage a portfolio of regular clients and undertake telesales activity to generate new business.
Client Management
  • Build strong client relationships and understand the objectives of each event.
  • Plan and coordinate event details including catering, room layouts and audio‑visual requirements.
  • Liaise closely with the Operations team to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Occasionally attend events to support operational delivery.
  • Collect and review post‑event feedback to continuously improve service standards.
Finance
  • Prepare pro forma invoices and ensure accurate event billing.
  • Monitor and collect deposits, pre‑payments and credit authorisations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely posting of payments.
  • Ensure no outstanding debt remains beyond 30 days after events.
General
  • Maintain excellent product knowledge of venue facilities and services.
  • Support the wider events team during large or complex bookings.
  • Assist with departmental administration and reporting.
  • Ensure consistently high standards of customer service and professionalism.
About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and confident communicating with clients.

You will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A friendly and professional approach when dealing with clients in person and over the phone.
  • The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a commercial mindset.
  • Previous experience in conferences, meetings or events.
  • Good IT, social media and numeracy skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and contribute to team projects.

Experience with
audio‑visual equipment, bar service or catering operations would be an advantage but is not essential.

Working Hours

The role is based on a 40‑hour working week
, although working hours may vary depending on business needs. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, so flexibility is essential.

Salary and Benefits
  • Salary: £29,370 per annum
  • 28 days annual leave including bank holidays (increasing with service)
  • Contributory pension scheme: 6% employee contribution with 16% employer contribution
