The Pitch

It’s a fun job with a great team. You’ll be pitching a well-defined portfolio of products to some of the most influential R&D organisations on the planet. The sky’s the limit.

We’re on the hunt for an intellectually curious, commercially minded self-starter with 10+ years’ experience to help grow our business. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving new and organic business growth, working directly with CTOs, Corporate Innovation teams and Tech Scouts inside enterprise-scale organisations — making sure our future customers feel inspired about what we do and compelled to work with us.

We’re looking for someone who is mid-career, entrepreneurial, a natural people-person, and comfortable developing and managing relationships with senior stakeholders. You’ll be able to talk credibly about our products and services, run the day-to-day sales process, and help us keep improving how we sell. An academic background in science would be beneficial.

This is a hands‑on selling role — for the first 12 months you’ll be focused on outreach, pitching, progressing opportunities, and closing (rather than managing a team).

What you will be doing
  • Grow our book of work through new business and account expansion
  • Lead sales outreach and execution on a day‑to‑day basis
  • Map target markets and identify the right teams and stakeholders inside large enterprise organisations
  • Navigate multi‑stakeholder buying processes across R&D, innovation and commercial functions
  • Refine and optimise our sales process as we scale
  • Spot what isn’t working in our sales process and continuously improve it
  • Collaborate with internal teams to build on new and existing revenue streams
  • Provide market feedback to support new product development
  • Input into the development of sales collateral and processes
  • Provide sales forecasts and performance reporting
  • Support early‑stage customer success (initially) to ensure strong relationships and long‑term revenue

Requirements
  • 10+ years’ commercial experience, with 5+ years in B2B sales, account management, customer success or similar roles (ideally within knowledge / information / intelligence / advisory services)
  • Experience navigating and pitching into enterprise‑scale, R&D‑led organisations
  • Able to work autonomously and deliver results in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Comfortable mapping markets, analysing large organisations, identifying targets and navigating them as prospects

    A consultative, customer‑centric sales style — focused on trust and long‑term relationships (not hard‑sell tactics)
  • Background in science and technology, or a genuine interest in it
  • High attention to detail, personable, flexible and reliable
  • Highly motivated and target driven
