Senior Merchandiser

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the financial planning and in season trading of the category through WSSI and OTB Management.
• In conjunction with Buying team develop the seasonal strategy, including product offer, sourcing strategy, pricing strategy and financial KPIs for presentation & sign off to Senior Leadership.
• Partner with Buying to drive weekly, monthly & seasonal analysis of sales performance, profitability, consumer buying patterns, market trends and competitor activity to critically assess areas of opportunity and risk for the category.
• Management of stock requirements, in line with stock targets, container agreements, cash flow requirements and availability targets for the category.
• In conjunction with Buying manage the critical path to ensure that NPD is launched on time and internal stakeholders are aware of key launches to support NPD, e.g. Marketing, VM, Retail, Ecommerce.
• Partner with the Sourcing teams in the Far East, and as required provide forecasts for long term production planning.
• Develop close working relationships with existing and new suppliers to ensure key business goals are met.
• Oversee the intake management and communication of purchase orders requirements to direct FE sourcing team and non-direct sourcing suppliers.

The Role: As a Senior Merchandiser, you'll be responsible for leading the merchandising strategy for your category, ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time. You'll make data-driven decisions, collaborate closely with Buying, Design and Supply Chain teams, and act as a commercial leader who can confidently influence at all levels.

• Proven experience in merchandising at Senior Merchandiser level or an established Merchandiser ready for the next step.
• Strong analytical skills with a natural ability to interpret data and drive commercial decisions.
• Confident in planning tools such as WSSI, OTB, and forecasting systems.
• Proactive, strategic, and solutions-focused with a strong trading mindset.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Highly organised, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• A passion for product and the customer.
