Depot Storeman
Location:
Bexley
Hourly Rate: £16.60 per hour
Type:
Permanent, Full-Time, 40 hrs
Project Partners are now recruiting for a Depot Storeman to come and join an established Depot team in Bexley. Our client is a leading utilities contractor specialising in the water and civil engineering sectors.
The purpose of the Depot Storeman is to provide a safe and effective, stores, material & plant support service. You will ensure that traffic management/deliveries within the depot are always controlled & managed, and that the depot is well organised, safe and tidy.
Job Role:
* Receive, store, issue and record materials, equipment, spares, tools, PPE and consumables within the depot.
* Place material orders, plant on & off hire requests
* Upload delivery notes to the procurement system
* Handle, receive and store all materials and equipment in compliance with the requirements set out in datasheets, specifications or as dictated by legislation (Health and Safety).
* Monitor stock against project requirements and order as required, maintaining an ongoing accurate inventory.
* Provide counter service for personnel calling in at stores to collect items, issue materials/stock for production as required.
* Report damage on incoming plant & equipment. Provide detail on damages to allow contra-charges to be implemented.
* Contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of the contract
* Ensure that the depot stores, yard, welfare, toilets, are well organised, neat and tidy.
* Apply company/depot safety rules.
* Act as a role model at all times in support of the company’s vision, priorities and values.
Knowledge and
Skills required:
* Ability to maintain health and safety processes and procedures when taking deliveries, and loading/unloading vehicles.
* Knowledge of stores systems
* Good numerical skills for inventory management and stock counting
* Ability to work in a logical and structured manager, keeping accurate records and a disciplined approach to data management and filing
* Knowledge of COSHH and hazardous materials handling
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to take initiative
* Good time management skills and able to work to deadlines
* Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office, mainly Excel and Outlook
* Previous experience in stores/ordering in a depot/yard/stores is essential.
* High level of proven attendance
Qualifications and Certs
Required:
* Full driving license. (essential)
* EUSR National Water Hygiene (desirable)
* Emergency First Aid at Work (desirable)
* NPORS Vehicle Marshall (desirable)
* Manual Handling (desirable)
* Thames Water Safety Passport (desirable)
* Forklift operator licence (desirable)
