Selfridges is a brand driven by our vision to reinvent retail, where creative and commercial balance drive the output of the VM teams. The Visual Merchandising Manager – Personal Shopping is a crucial new role in achieving this vision, positioning our brand through bold creative expressions, cutting‑edge solutions and impeccable visual merchandising and presentation standards.

The role oversees the personal shopping space in our iconic Oxford Street flagship and works closely with the VM Lead. It involves strong organisational skills, responding to business and market needs while always pushing the boundaries of the art of retail. It is also a managerial role, with one Senior Visual Merchandiser direct report.

• Manage the Personal Shopping budget while maximising efficiency and creative impact.
• Manage the delivery of the Personal Shopping events and brand pop‑up calendar, ensuring a seamless execution of all projects.
• Drive the taste level and ‘wow factor’ across Personal Shopping in relation to styling direction and brand installations.
• Oversee cross‑category product merchandising encompassing men’s / women’s fashion, accessories and home.
• Drive visual merchandising standards to world‑class level.
• Understand the customer journey and ensure the Personal Shopping space is easy to navigate, while providing moments of discovery and delight.
• Create and ensure a cohesive shopping experience for our customers by understanding and ensuring correct product and brand adjacencies.
• Present creative plans to the VM Lead.
• Be a collaborative and inspiring Manager, unlocking creative potential in your team.
• Understand the Selfridges brand principles and guide your team and brands working within the space in responding to these principles accordingly.
• Ensure team and brands are fully compliant at all times with trading standards legislation, health & safety legislation and security standards.
• Push sustainable practices and improve sustainable solutions.

• Degree level qualification in the arts or related creative field.
