Job Description

As a Wok Chef at Din Tai Fung UK, you will play a crucial role in supporting our back‑kitchen team and ensuring smooth service. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve high‑quality wok dishes, noodle dishes, and appetizers.
  • Operate your chef station with precision and attention to detail.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, stock rotation, and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Train and support junior kitchen team members.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of passionate chefs during busy services.
  • Ensure consistency, portion control, and fast service in a high‑volume kitchen.
Who You Are
  • Previously worked as a Chef de Partie, Wok Chef, Noodle Chef, or Commis Chef.
  • Have experience in an Asian kitchen, Taiwanese restaurant, Chinese restaurant, or pan‑Asian cuisine.
  • Understand traditional Chinese cooking techniques such as wok hei and noodle pulling.
  • Have strong knife skills, excellent prep technique, and kitchen discipline.
  • Are motivated, reliable, and looking for a long‑term chef career with us.
  • Have flexible availability to work full time, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with shifts that may run as late as 10:30 PM.

What We Offer
  • Competitive Pay:
    Hourly rates (including troncs) start at £14 for Commis Chef.
  • Working Week: 5 days per week on a rota basis throughout Monday to Sunday; night shifts may run as late as 10:30 PM.
  • Contracted

    Hours:

    40–48 hours per week.

    Hiring for Central London (Covent Garden, Centre Point, Selfridges, and Canary Wharf).
