LSE Health

Associate Professorial Research Fellow in Health Systems Research

Salary is no less than £80,927 (pro rata) per annum and the salary scale can be found on the LSE website. Funding is currently available to support this position for 2 years. This appointment is 0.5 FTE. LSE Health is a multidisciplinary research centre with over 30 years of experience in advancing global research in health policy and health economics. Our mission is to develop and refine theoretical frameworks, apply cutting-edge methodologies, and introduce policy-relevant research questions that contribute to both academic debates and policy discussions.

We foster critical dialogue about emerging research developments and their implications for health systems worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Lead independent research on health systems challenges in low- and middle-income countries, publishing in leading journals.
  • Apply rigorous quantitative methods and health economics approaches to address real-world policy questions.
  • Mentor junior researchers and translate research into policy impact through active collaboration with governments, international organisations, and in-country partners.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Health Economics or Economics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in LMIC health systems, including primary care, inequalities in accessing health services, and impact of health insurance reforms on equity.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and country-based experience and engagement.
