Overview
Technical and Compliance Assistant (Food & Beverage Industry). Technical professional responsible for supporting food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across suppliers, customers, and internal teams. The role involves managing product specifications (ingredients, allergens, nutritional data), investigating customer complaints and non-conformances, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. It includes maintaining traceability records, coordinating with suppliers and external laboratories for technical documentation and product testing, and ensuring product artwork and labelling comply with UK/EU legislation.
The position also supports the Quality Management System (QMS), including HACCP, supplier approval, and BRCGS requirements.
- Support food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
- Manage product specifications (ingredients, allergens, nutritional data).
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances; perform root cause analysis; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain traceability records; coordinate with suppliers and external laboratories for technical documentation and product testing.
- Ensure product artwork and labelling comply with UK/EU legislation.
- Support the Quality Management System (QMS), including HACCP, supplier approval, and BRCGS requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits (conduct internal audits) and provide technical guidance to commercial and retail support teams.
- Required:
experience in food safety / compliance / food manufacturing (preferably meat processing); knowledge of quality and technical systems; strong documentation and communication skills; ability to work independently. - Preferred: degree in Food Science or Food Technology; HACCP Level 3; TACCP & VACCP Level 2;
Internal Auditor certification;
Food Safety Level 2; familiarity with UK/EU food regulations and labelling requirements.
