Location: Southall Middlesex
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30
Our client is a global producer and supplier of French style bakery products including viennoiserie such as croissants and pain au chocolat alongside bread savoury items and poultry. Their frozen part baked and fully baked products are supplied to food service professionals, retailers and bakers across more than 100 countries.
They are currently looking to recruit a Quality Systems Co‑ordinator to maintain, improve and implement quality and food safety systems across the site while ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities Health and Safety- Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies and procedures at all times
- Attend relevant training including health and safety induction and manual handling
- Follow company life‑saving rules and ensure health and safety requirements are met across the workplace
- Use correct PPE when required and maintain a safe working environment
- Report accidents or near misses immediately to the relevant manager
- Ensure compliance with food safety GMP and hygiene policies and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas following a clean‑as‑you‑go approach
- Attend relevant food safety training when required
- Maintain and implement the site quality and food safety management systems
- Ensure compliance with quality procedures and site security policies
- Support the management of internal and external audits
- Initiate and monitor corrective and preventive action plans
- Manage the site labelling database system across all units
- Manage the site laboratory testing schedule and related testing activities
- Maintain document control including updates and version management
- Carry out traceability and mass balance exercises when required
- Manage raw material supplier approvals, monitoring appraisals and audits
- Maintain specifications, risk assessments and technical information for raw materials, packaging and intermediate products
- Coordinate raw material sampling and microbiological surveillance
- Attend supplier and raw material meetings where required
- Establish, manage and approve specifications for ingredients, packaging and finished products
- Carry out allergen risk assessments, validation and verification and maintain documentation
- Manage the customer complaints log and carry out investigation reports
- Ensure critical raw materials are sourced from approved suppliers when required
- Follow up on non‑conformances and support root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Review technical KPI trends with the site quality manager and implement improvement plans
- Carry out internal audits against site standards
- Train factory staff on site technical standards and procedures
- Minimum 3 years experience working in a food safety or quality role within food manufacturing
- Food Safety Level 3 qualification
- Strong understanding of food safety quality systems and GMP standards
- Good communication skills both written and verbal in English
- Good level of numeracy and strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively
- Strong team player with a proactive approach
- Flexible and adaptable within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
