As an Interim Quality Assurance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring services consistently meet internal quality standards, regulatory expectations, and sector best practice. Working across multiple service areas, you will undertake audits, service reviews and thematic checks, supporting operational teams to improve outcomes and compliance. Key responsibilities will include:
Conducting regular quality audits and service reviews across support services Monitoring compliance against safeguarding, health & safety, data protection and other key policies Coordinating, collating and analysing performance data, KPIs and outcomes Supporting services to respond to external audits, inspections and contract compliance checks Producing clear, evidence‑based reports with practical recommendations Working closely with frontline teams and managers to implement improvement plans Promoting a culture of learning, transparency and continuous improvement This role is based in Stoke-on-Trent, with hybrid working and regular service visits required.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this interim role, you will be able to demonstrate:
Proven experience in a quality assurance, compliance or audit role within housing, homelessness, domestic abuse, social care or allied support services Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, safeguarding, risk management and incident reporting
Experience of undertaking service audits and quality reviews Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and constructively Strong analytical skills with confidence working with service data, KPIs and reports Advanced IT skills, including Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) and wider Microsoft Office applications Ability to manage your own workload autonomously across multiple services A trauma‑informed, person‑centred and inclusive approach to service improvement A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle This role will suit a proactive interim professional who can quickly understand services and drive measurable improvements.
