Technical Manager

We are working with a well-established UK food supply business to recruit an experienced Technical Manager to lead food safety, quality and compliance across a complex supply network. This is a senior, hands-on role with significant customer and supplier interaction.

• Lead and maintain food safety, quality and legality systems in line with BRCGS, retailer standards and UK legislation
• Act as the primary technical contact for major customers, audits and site inspections
• Manage supplier approval, performance monitoring and risk assessment across primary producers and third-party partners
• Oversee traceability, specifications, complaints, non-conformance and corrective action processes
• Drive a strong food safety and quality culture across operations and partner sites
• Support new product, supplier and process onboarding from a technical perspective
• Lead, mentor and develop technical team members where applicable

• Proven experience in a Technical Manager or Senior Technical role within food supply, manufacturing or operations
• Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, food safety legislation and retailer standards
• Experience managing audits, customer relationships and supplier assurance
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels of the business
• Highly organised, detail-focused and commercially aware
