Veterinary Surgeon – Essex

- Excellent work life balance with a 4 days per week (Full-time), No OOH, Nights or Sundays & only 1:4 Saturdays on rota (alternating between a full and a half day).

Our client is looking for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their team at their 24‑hour veterinary hospital situated in a charming suburb in Essex, an area that offers a perfect blend of urban convenience and natural beauty. The hospital proudly holds a Silver Cat Friendly Award, reflecting their commitment to a welcoming environment for feline patients, and is equipped with state‑of‑the‑art ultrasound and digital X-ray facilities, including specialised dental radiography.
The team consists of 4‑5 general practice clinicians, a weekly visiting ultrasonographer, and strong partnerships with peripatetic orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeons. Registered veterinary nurses, student veterinary nurses, and receptionists support the practice.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director to maintain standards and ensure the delivery of top‑tier clinical care.
- Conduct a blend of general practice consultations and surgical procedures throughout the week, allocating one day exclusively for administrative tasks.
- Conduct thorough assessments of all cases, develop and execute preventive, diagnostic, and treatment plans as necessary.
- Foster a collaborative environment and provide mentorship to colleagues to uphold similar standards of care.
- Review, enhance, and ensure adherence to practice protocols in all treatment procedures.
- Collaborate with and delegate tasks to other clinical and support staff as needed.
- Full-time or Part-Time position.
- 40 hours per week over 4 days (set day off each week).
- 1:4 Saturdays on rota (alternating between a full and a half day).
- No nights.
- No on call.
- No Sundays.
- Salary starting from £70,000 per annum (FTE) depending on experience.
