Overview
As a Senior Chemotherapy Nurse in our Day Unit, you'll be part of a highly skilled team delivering systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) to patients throughout their treatment journey. The team plays a vital role in providing safe, effective, and compassionate care while supporting patients and their families at every stage.
What You'll Do- Lead in administering chemotherapy, managing complex cases, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice.
- Guide and mentor junior colleagues, helping to shape a supportive learning environment.
- Contribute to service development, champion quality improvement initiatives and help maintain the outstanding reputation of our unit.
- Lead the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient care.
- Take charge of the day unit when required.
- Offer expert clinical guidance.
- Work autonomously and confidently, making sound clinical decisions.
- Embrace additional leadership responsibilities, such as acting as a link nurse, championing best practice, and promoting a safe, respectful, person-centred environment where dignity and wellbeing are prioritised.
- Staff Nurses with at least a year of independent chemotherapy administration experience will be considered
- SACT-approved
- Confident in recognising and managing chemotherapy-related side effects and complications
