Overview
We are looking for an experienced research nurse to join the Sarcoma Research Unit as a keyworker, providing expert knowledge of both Sarcoma and clinical trials. You will run and support patients on phase I to III clinical trials in various modalities, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, and lead improvement strategies for data collection and documentation on EPIC while teaching other unit members.

Responsibilities- Run and support patients on phase I to III clinical trials in chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery.
- Recruit, treat and monitor patients on sarcoma studies, including the collection of blood for pharmacokinetic studies.
- Provide support to patients and their families while on study.
- Lead improvement strategies for how we collect and document data on EPIC and help teach other unit members.
- Coordinate and manage a clinical research portfolio, ensuring continued care and support for patients involved in trials.
- Support patients by providing advice, information, and acting as patient advocates.
- Work closely with the principal investigator and multidisciplinary team to facilitate coordinated patient care.
- Ensure proposed research projects are registered and reviewed by the Trust’s R&D department and REC prior to commencement, and that updates and amendments are reported in a timely manner.
- Liaise with pharmaceutical sponsors regarding feasibility and implementation aspects of proposed clinical trials.
- Experience in recruitment, treatment, and monitoring of patients in sarcoma studies.
- Knowledge of clinical trial operations, data collection, and EPIC documentation.
- Strong communication and teaching skills, with the ability to support patients and families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
