Contract:
Parhaol / Full time – 37.5 hours per week (Mixture of LD & Nights).
Grade: NHS AfC Band 5.
Salary: £35,964 – £43,780 per annum inclusive of HCASC, paid annually.

Key Responsibilities- Unsupersvised assessment of patient care needs and development, implementation and evaluation of plans of care.
- Provide efficient, effective and evidence‑based nursing care to children and young people within the hospital setting.
- Perform nursing procedures to a high standard in accordance with Royal Free Clinical Practice Guidelines and policies.
- Recognise and manage life‑threatening emergencies in children and carry out required interventions.
- Highlight and identify child protection concerns and act through child protection procedures, ensuring team adherence to policies.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing records using the Nursing Information System, ensuring confidentiality and safe keeping.
- Ensure safe custody and administration of drugs according to Royal Free policy, including intravenous and central venous medication.
- Organise workload in line with clinical priorities.
- First‑Level Registration/RN Child required.
- Evidence of recent and ongoing professional development.
- Recognised teaching or mentorship qualification or working towards one.
- Post‑registration experience working in an acute hospital setting.
- Awareness of current professional nursing issues.
- Sound knowledge of infection control standards.
- Understanding of audit/quality improvement processes.
- Knowledge of risk management.
- Capability to participate in change and service improvement.
- Aware of quality and safety standards and departmental audit requirements.
- Maintain a safe clinical environment conducive to patient care.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
- Proven communication skills and negotiation ability.
- Skilled in computer and keyboard usage.
- Ability to supervise unregistered staff.
- Can work well within a team.
