Band 5 Theatre Nurse Practitioner Cardiothoracic Theatres

The new Barts Heart Centre has brought together the services of some of the best cardiovascular experts in the country to create a single specialist centre for cardiovascular disease, covering all local communities. We are looking to recruit skilled and experienced senior cardiothoracic scrub practitioners for our Thoracic and Robotics Theatres.

This role will provide clinical leadership across the cardiac surgical programme delivered in a new 10 theatre complex, covering cardiac, thoracic, robotic and thoracoabdominal aneurysm surgery, complex electrophysiology cases and the nationally recognised Heart Attack Centre serving North and East London.

• Act as a professional role model and clinical teacher.
• Provide clinical leadership support and mentorship for junior staff.
• Participate in the education and training of nursing and non‑nursing staff.
• Ensure safe, efficient, timely, individualised care in line with local and national targets.

• Extensive mandatory training and band 6 development programme.
• Opportunity for further academic studies and attendance at external conferences and courses.
