Team Lead Charge Nurse

Overview

We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

• Assume the role of perioperative Charge nurse/charge ODP within the main theatre suite.
• Work within the main theatre suite (9 operating theatres, a 12 bedded recovery room and a reception suite) as part of a Charge Nurse/Charge ODP team supported by SCN/SODP.
• Be part of a unit with a perioperative education team that supports continued professional development.
• Rotational position across the theatre suite to support service delivery.
• Operate seven days a week including weekends and public holidays; shift patterns reflect this.
• Be a dynamic individual educated to degree level, with evidence of continued professional development, and in possession of a current NMC pin/HCPC.
• Occasionally work across Clyde Theatres as required by service needs.

• First level Registered nurse or ODP with extensive experience at band 5 level within the scrub specialties of ENT, General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology or Orthopaedics.
• Demonstrate continued professional development.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
