About our clientJosh is 6 years old, living with his Mummy, Daddy, and little brother in their fully adapted home in Southwest London. He sustained a Perinatal Hypoxic Brain Injury at birth resulting in profound and complex medical needs. He has Dystonic Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. He requires suctioning, and receives all nutrition, fluid and medication via his PEG. He is unable to verbalise, using facial expressions, body language and sounds to communicate.
The team is nurse-led and provides round the clock support to ensure he receives the highest level of care, support, and therapy input.
Josh is supported on a 2:1 basis (day and night). He is making progress and will be attending school regularly from September. The team follows a detailed care plan, providing support in all areas of ADLs, complex care, and rehabilitation including daily therapy input. Weekday shifts start with the school run, returning home to continue the after school and evening routine. Weekends involve activities, with the team facilitating Josh’s participation.
Bespoke training is provided; you must have training and experience in PEG, suctioning and seizure management.
You will have excellent experience in complex medical care, be compassionate, and enjoy working as part of a team. Josh and his family need someone who can see him for who he is and his potential. You should be creative and enjoy playing games and singing songs/nursery rhymes.
