Staff Nurse - Critical Care

Overview

Critical Care at the Royal Alexandra Hospital incorporates a purpose-built Intensive Care Unit (2019) and a High Dependency Unit, located adjacent to each other to create a combined critical care area. Due to service expansion, there are opportunities for Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our High Dependency Team.

• Join a dynamic and fast-paced Critical Care area caring for emergency and elective patients across a variety of medical and surgical specialties.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams to provide specialist care pathways and closer nursing observations for critically ill patients.
• Deliver person-centred care from admission to discharge, tailoring approaches to meet the needs of patients with one or more organ failure requiring organ support and closer nursing observation.
• Be part of a team delivering care in a busy environment and adapt to a broad range of individuals and circumstances.

• Must have a live NMC UK PIN to be considered for this post.
• Critical care experience is desirable; candidates with acute nursing experience, good communication skills, and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team are welcome.
• Commitment to ongoing development with support from Practice Educators and an educational/quality improvement ethos.

Successful candidates will be based in the High Dependency Unit, with the opportunity to rotate to other areas for professional development and educational opportunities. Informal visits to the units prior to interview are welcome and can be arranged in advance.
