Overview

The shift pattern for this post is 37 hours per week, consisting of days, nights and weekends. Please be advised that, effective 1 April 2026, the full-time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic band 5 Registered Nurse to join our surgical nursing team. This will be based in ward 24, a 30 bedded ward within the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
Responsibilities- Assess, deliver and supervise all care needs within the ward environment.
- Possess sound clinical skills for assessment of patients’ needs, implementation and evaluation of care which are evidence based.
- Work in a fast-paced environment to a high clinical standard. Be forward thinking, flexible and able to work effectively within a changing and dynamic environment.
- Opportunity to expand skills and knowledge across a diverse range of surgical patients; the team will guide and support you whether you are newly qualified or new to the ward/department, facilitating learning and education development.
- As part of the multidisciplinary team, be responsible for assessment of care needs and the development of a programme of care, and the implementation and evaluation of these programmes to ensure delivery of high quality care in the ward environment.
- Be able to work on your own initiative, without direct supervision, but also as part of the integrated team. Work within a flexible shift pattern of both day and night rotations and weekend working.
- Excellent communication skills and decision making with evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC.
- You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.
