Staff Nurse – Renal Assessment Unit (Band
5)

We are currently seeking a band 5 staff nurse to join our Renal Assessment Unit at the Royal London Hospital. We take immense pride in delivering exceptional care to our renal patients and are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated nurse.

Ideal Candidate

Interest in renal nursing, ability to work in a fast‑paced assessment unit, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering care to a high standard. Renal experience or prior experience in an Assessment Unit is desirable, and the ability to perform venepuncture and cannulation is required.

Role Overview

Work a 7 am to 7 pm shift pattern from Monday to Friday, moving to Saturdays in the future. Provide nursing care to patients coming in for day surgery, transfusions and clinic appointments.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to renal patients in the assessment unit.
  • Conduct venepuncture and cannulation procedures.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient‑focused care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and support clinical documentation.
  • Work within a large nursing team and comply with unit protocols.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse, band 5 level.
  • Prior renal nursing or assessment unit experience preferred.
  • Proficient in venepuncture and cannulation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
