Emergency Sister​/Charge Nurse - Band 6

Overview

The Royal London Emergency Department, part of Barts Health, is seeking a forward‑thinking and highly motivated Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Major Trauma Centre.

• Take charge of the A&E department for shifts on a rolling rota, supported by a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
• Deliver high quality clinical care and maintain high standards of nursing care within the current service.
• Actively shape the future of the Royal London Emergency Department and support career development in clinical, management and leadership skills.
• Encourage and lead nurse champions in areas of care and support project work for quality improvement.
• Participate in secondment prospects such as the Physician Response Unit, integrating into the pre‑hospital MDT response unit.
• Support senior nurses in providing organisational and managerial support to the multi‑professional team.
• Deliver the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure safe working practice in line with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, trust policies and procedures.

• Relevant Emergency Department experience and emergency care qualification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, empathy and compassion.
• Commitment to patient care and staff development, with a desire to promote change and development.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
