A fast‑paced, specialised area, Blundell Ward is a 24‑beded Head and Neck/ENT‑focused ward where no two days are the same, and every shift brings new challenges and opportunities for growth.
Blundell Ward offers an exceptional nursing experience that you won't find in most other ward areas. You'll have the chance to care for patients who have undergone complex head and neck surgeries and manage difficult airways—a skill set that will set you apart in the nursing world. You'll work across both elective and emergency admissions, providing vital care to a diverse group of patients from Oncology, Haematology, and ENT areas.

Experience with in Head and Neck or tracheostomy care is desirable.

Jobresponsibilities
- Independently manage a group of patients within the specialty whilst working as part of the multidisciplinary team, delivering individualised and personalised direct patient care
- Be wholly accountable for practice in line with the NMC code of professional conduct and take every reasonable opportunity to sustain and improve knowledge and professional competence
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers and families regarding disease treatment and management
- Demonstrate appropriate practice and specialist advice in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, including history taking, physical examination and the requesting of agreed diagnostic procedures/clinical investigations
- Undertake prescribed physical observations (blood pressure, temperature, respirations, blood sugars, urinalysis, weight and height, drain monitoring including measurement and reporting of exceptions appropriately)
- Responsible for the correct administration of prescribed medication via oral, enteral and IV routes including transfusion of blood and blood products
- Lead assessment of emergencies within the specialty and interpret information to take appropriate action and lead others to do the same
