Lead Nurse​/Practice Nurse

We are looking for a Nurse Lead for our existing nursing team or a candidate that is willing to work towards this position. Swiss Cottage Surgery is a practice that is continually growing and we are looking for a candidate that is willing to embrace change and develop professionally.

We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our existing nursing team. You will ideally have experience of working in a GP primary care setting . Familiarity with EMIS is ideal but applicants with experience in other IT applications will be considered.

The candidate will be expected to cover core nursing duties including, smear tests, child and travel immunisations, wound care, assist in minor surgery clinics, governance tasks and recall processes. Preferable also is to have experience in undertaking diabetes checks, Asthma annual reviews, COPD monitoring, Smoking Cessation and Family Planning advice experience.

You will need good computer skills. You will be able to organise your own workload and will need to be flexible, as the role involves some administrative work, and you must be able to record information accurately.

Swiss Cottage Surgery Surgery is a practice, providing care to over 17,000 patients and is part of Central Camden Primary Care Network. We are a friendly, supportive 5 partner practice with a wider multi-professional team including GPs, Nurses, Pharmacists and Physician Associates and a Management team.

• Degree in Nursing
• Registered with the NMC
• Qualified Smear Taker

• Experience using EMIS Web
• Experience and registered to take smears
• Experience working as part of a team
• Experience with LTC appointments
• Experience Assisting Minor Surgery Clinics
• Experiene leading on infection control
• Experience leading on changes related to the nursing team
• Experience leading a team of nurses
