Job SummaryWe are recruiting for experienced band 6 nurses with a post graduate qualification in critical care to join our Adult Critical Care Unit at the Royal London Hospital. We are very much on the frontline in London's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and are rapidly expanding our critical care capacity to support the backlog of complex surgical patients awaiting elective surgery alongside trauma and emergency patients, while continuing to care for patients suffering from Covid-19.
Our staff will rotate across all critical care areas.
To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualized, holistic patient care in conjunction with the inter‑professional team. As a proficient practitioner in critical care, the post holder acts as a professional role model and clinical teacher. He/she also provides effective mentorship and preceptorship, participating in the education and training of nursing and non‑nursing staff. He/she also takes charge of the Intensive Care Unit as required, liaising closely with the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse, with continuing responsibility.
ExperienceExtensive critical care nursing experience or experience in a specialised unit. Experience post adult critical care course.
Essential Qualifications- NMC Registrant or Completion of Adaptation Course
- Adult Critical Care Course Certificate
- Preparation for Mentorship Course
- Intravenous accreditation
- ALS Certification / LEO / RCN Leadership Programme or equivalent
- Degree or working towards first degree
