Help working people understand and use their rights
The TUC is recruiting an Employment Rights Act Engagement Officer to play a key role in promoting one of the most important advances in workplace rights in a generation. This role will help ensure that union reps, officers and working people across the country understand what the new Employment Rights Act means for them – and how it can improve their working lives, safety and security at work.
You will be part of a committed and experienced team working to turn new legal rights into real-world improvements in workplaces. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys communication, organisation and engagement, and wants to make a tangible difference for working people.
About you
We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and motivated by social justice.
You will have:
Experience in communications, engagement, campaigns or project support.
The ability to write clearly and produce briefings, newsletters and guidance.
Experience organising events or webinars and managing participant communications.
Confidence working with data, surveys or databases.
An understanding of, or strong interest in, employment rights and the trade union movement.
A commitment to equality, inclusion and anti-racism.
Why join us?
You’ll be part of a supportive, values-driven organisation that exists to improve working people’s lives. We offer:
Opportunities for learning and development
A collaborative and inclusive workplace
The chance to be involved in work that has a real and lasting impact
The closing date for completed applications for this post is midday on Thursday 19 February.
Interviews will take place on the week commencing Monday 2 March 2026.
The TUC values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community and from within and outside of the trade union movement.
We welcome applications from any candidate but are particularly keen to receive applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, who are underrepresented at this grade in the TUC
