The Maintenance Support Central (MSC) is an initiative by the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO). MSC aims to empower financially vulnerable individuals to understand their marital and maintenance rights and provides them with all-rounded support from our community partners.
We are now looking for a Social Service Executive.
SCWO’s Maintenance Support Central (MSC) is hiring a Social Service Executive to provide assistance and support to financially vulnerable individuals and to be involved in MSC’s day-to-day operations and programme management which includes
Single Mothers Programme. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to be part of various advocacy projects that can make impactful changes to society!
Your primary role as a social service executive is to provide vital support to individuals in understanding their maintenance and marital rights. Additionally, your role will be to provide a holistic support for clients to be empowered to be more financially independent for themselves and their children.
At MSC, we also work closely with other social service agencies and government organisations to refer our clients for services that are most applicable and beneficial for them. As a social service executive, you have the opportunity to change lives by providing aid that many are not aware are available to them.
- Providing quality and timely response to individuals seeking support from MSC through calls, Whats App, emails, walk-ins, referrals, and other platforms.
- Assisting clients with the filing of Fresh Maintenance and Enforcement of Maintenance Application (training will be provided) as well as guiding them on the maintenance processes.
- Providing clients with the explanation of Family Law processes and terms.
- Organising and ensuring smooth running of legal clinics twice a month.
- Organising and co-ordinating MSC events such as MSC Talks.
- Providing para-counselling for clients who require emotional support through phone calls or face-to-face.
- Offering support to clients by liaising with and making referrals to other relevant agencies.
- Supporting the development of MSC’s services through liaising with partners and stakeholders
- Maintaining and preparing accurate recording of data and monthly and quarterly reports.
- Conducting research to evaluate effectiveness of services and to explore areas of growth.
- Represent MSC for fundraising and outreach matters, sharing on financial abuse and MSC’s causes.
- Support SCWO wide events and initiatives
- Having a degree in social work or a relevant field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a social service environment
- Strong interpersonal communication abilities with individuals and systems at multi-levels
- Enjoys working in a dynamic social service environment
- Enjoys working on a range of tasks and responsibilities related to direct work and service planning
- Team player with an ability function effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Open for Singaporean or PR only
The Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) was established in 1980 as the national coordinating body of women’s organisations in Singapore. SCWO has more than 60-member organisations, which represent over 600,000 women, and it serves to unite them to work toward ideals of ‘Equal Space, Equal Voice and Equal Worth’ for women in Singapore.
