Help a Stray Cat is a UK-based nonprofit organisation dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming stray cats — many of whom come from the streets of Istanbul and other regions of Turkey — into safe, loving homes in the UK.

What difference will you make?
  • Hands‑on experience in charity fundraising and animal welfare grant writing
  • The opportunity to contribute directly to the rescue and rehoming of vulnerable animals
  • Enhanced research, writing, and communication skills within a small but growing nonprofit
  • Experience collaborating in a compassionate, international rescue network
  • Access to training and mentorship within Help A Stray Cat’s volunteer community
What are we looking for?
  • Excellent written English and communication skills
  • Strong research ability and attention to detail
  • Computer literacy (Word, Google Workspace, spreadsheets)
  • Motivation, independence, and organisational skills
  • Experience in fundraising, proposal writing, or animal welfare
  • A heartfelt interest in helping stray cats and improving animal welfare
What will you be doing?

You will assist our fundraising and operations team in identifying and applying for relevant grants, trust funds, and foundation support to sustain and expand our rescue, medical, and rehoming efforts.

  • Researching grant opportunities suited to our charity’s mission and activities
  • Preparing and submitting clear, persuasive funding applications
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team to align proposals with ongoing rescue needs
  • Tracking grant deadlines and maintaining organised funding records
