Main Purpose of the Role

As Marketing Manager
, you will play a pivotal role in delivering marketing activity that attracts and converts a strong, diverse pipeline of students to The Client’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

You will design and implement integrated, global marketing plans that support student recruitment targets, enhance the applicant experience, and clearly articulate The Client’s distinctive academic offer to international audiences.

Working closely with academic leaders, faculty stakeholders and central client teams, you will translate complex academic propositions into compelling, accessible marketing that reflects The Client’s global reputation and values.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Marketing & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop deep, authoritative knowledge of The Client’s departments, programmes and research, acting as a trusted marketing partner to academic and professional stakeholders.
  • Support the Senior Marketing Manager in shaping and delivering faculty-wide marketing strategies aligned to client priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with The Client Communications Team to deliver integrated campaigns across digital, content and event-based channels.
  • Work in partnership with client Marketing, Student Recruitment and Communications teams to align faculty activity with university-wide recruitment and applicant experience strategies.
  • Deliver end-to-end marketing plans that attract, nurture and convert a high-calibre, international and diverse applicant pipeline.
  • Create and commission engaging marketing content for digital campaigns, working with communications colleagues to maximise reach across owned and earned channels.
  • Lead on the delivery of paid media and advertising campaigns, working with external agencies and overseeing creative development.
  • Manage The Client’s student ambassador activity in support of recruitment and conversion objectives.
  • Contribute to annual UG and PG prospectus production, CRM communications and nurture journeys in collaboration with central client teams.
  • Deliver impactful online and on-campus recruitment events, including Open Days and targeted conversion activities.
  • Support targeted initiatives that advance student diversity objectives, promoting scholarships, funding opportunities and The Client’s study locations.
Marketing Performance, Insight & Evaluation
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on marketing performance against recruitment targets using faculty and client performance frameworks.
  • Contribute to dashboards and insight reporting to optimise campaign, content and event effectiveness.
  • Undertake competitor analysis and benchmarking to strengthen programme positioning and market visibility.
  • Analyse applicant feedback (e.g. ACDC reports) to improve the applicant journey and experience at key touchpoints.
  • Line manage the Marketing Officer, providing clear direction, coaching and support for professional development.
  • Support budget planning and management, evaluating return on investment and ensuring effective use of marketing spend.
  • Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the faculty and client to ensure marketing activity delivers maximum strategic value.

  • Ensure all marketing activity complies with GDPR, CMA and Public Sector Accessibility Regulations

  • Actively champion equality, diversity and inclusion, ensuring inclusive representation across content, campaigns and events.
  • Apply client accessibility and EDI best practice guidance across all marketing outputs.
  • Support The Client’s commitment to climate action and net zero carbon emissions
    .
  • Maintain awareness of Fire, Health and Safety regulations.
Additional Information
  • The role may require occasional evening and weekend work, particularly during recruitment and conversion events.
