This role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract covering for maternity leave of the current role holder and sits on the leadership team for the Commercial and Marketing department which supports all our market segments in Sky Business.

What you’ll do:
  • Own the Marketing and Ecommerce plans and execution for our small and medium business (SMB) customer segment (typically 0-100 employees) including the customers who sit within our hospitality vertical (Independent, single site, pubs and clubs).
  • Own the marketing strategy focusing on demand generation and conversion – both prospects and existing customers.
  • Planning the media mix with our media agency.
  • Working with our brand and creative team on best creative execution to deliver our targets.
  • Working with our proposition teams to deliver campaigns around offers, promotions and new product launches.
  • Working with our sales teams and digital teams to maximise customer value (ARPU/EBITDA) and conversion.
  • Mature our base marketing function that will deliver on customer retention and upsell/enrichment, and cross-sell to maximise customer product holdings.
  • Own SMB ecommerce strategy and execution as the owner of the digital sales and ARPU performance targets in this market – delivering the outcomes required by leveraging affiliates, digital marketing, SEO, on site optimisations and working with partners such as Meta, Google and Amazon for innovative E2E digital funnel executions.
  • Developing and delivering the marketing approach for the key products in this segment:
    Broadband, Mobile, Sky Sports on Sky Q/Sky Stream, Dedicated Internet Access and Hosted Voice.
  • Planning and Trading:
    Drive the quarterly marketing and ecommerce planning cycle for SMB agreeing targets and enablers with the business ensuring a week-to-week and day-to-day focus on delivering our performance marketing and derived sales targets across all direct sales channels
  • Being able to capitalise on opportunities and mitigate risks as they arise, reacting rapidly to a fast-changing trading performance scenario.
  • Lead a direct team of 8 people and co-ordinate virtual teams across sales, commercial, data, marketing and product as needed.
What You’ll bring:
  • Senior-level experience (e.g. Head of department) in commercially accountable marketing roles in UK B2B telecoms. Must demonstrate deep understanding of the UK SMB market – experience of key verticals such as hospitality are desirable.
  • Proven end-to-end ownership of a high-value transactional marketing and ecommerce funnel, with direct accountability for demand generation, revenue, ARPU and conversion outcomes across prospects and existing customers.
  • An innovative but pragmatic thinker that will focus on creativity, test and learn, and continuous improvement to deliver the best commercial outcomes for the business.
  • Proven senior leadership experience, including management of multi-disciplinary teams in commercial, digital and marketing roles. Ability to set direction, drive pace, and hold teams accountable while fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability, with a track record of building and owning business cases, sizing market opportunities, setting performance targets, and making fast, high-impact decisions in live trading environments based on data, insight and sound judgement.
