Hiring a Head of Communications in a High-Growth SaaS Business

Hanson Search is partnering with a fast-scaling SaaS company to hire a Head of Communications. This is a senior leadership role responsible for owning the company’s external narrative across media, PR, and thought leadership. The organisation operates in the B2B SaaS space, selling enterprise-grade cloud software and platform solutions. As the business scales, communications plays a strategic role in supporting go-to-market execution, executive visibility, product launches, and long-term brand positioning.

The role sits at senior leadership level and works closely with Marketing, Product Marketing, Investor Relations and the executive team.

This role is responsible for building credibility, visibility and consistency across key audiences.

Core areas of focus include:

• External communications and corporate PR strategy
• Media relations (tier-one business, tech, and trade press)
• Executive thought leadership and spokesperson positioning
• Messaging across SaaS, cloud, AI, data, cybersecurity, and digital transformation
• Support for product launches, platform updates, and GTM initiatives
• Agency management and external stakeholder relationships
• Crisis communications and issues management
• Brand visibility, share of voice, and reputation management

The ideal candidate will have sector understanding and the ability to operate at pace in complex, high-growth environments.

Experience required:

• Experience leading external communications, PR, or corporate communications
• Strong background in SaaS, B2B software, cloud platforms, or enterprise technology
• Experience working in high-growth, venture-backed or publicly listed tech companies
• Proven success securing consistent, high-quality media coverage
• Comfortable advising C-suite leaders and acting as a strategic communications partner
• Deep understanding of SaaS business models, subscription economics, and technology buyers
• Excellent writing, messaging, and narrative development skills
• Experience working with PR agencies and global media environments

While not essential, the organisation values:

• IPO, M&A, or investor communications exposure
• Analyst relations experience
• Product-led growth or developer-focused SaaS background
