Background

Fully Remote. We are seeking a Public Relations and Conference Manager to play a key role in extending Bio Phorum’s reputation as thought leaders within the biopharmaceutical industry. This role will be pivotal in shaping and executing our external communications strategy, building relationships with key media outlets, creating compelling content that resonates with our members and the wider life sciences community, and extending our reach into new markets by ensuring our participation in industry conferences delivers maximum visibility, engagement, and ROI.

Media

Relations
  • Develop and execute a proactive media relations plan aligned with business objectives.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media kits, and thought leadership content.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and key media outlets across relevant industry print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
  • Manage Bio Phorum’s PR suppliers and ensure maximum impact of all relevant activity.
  • Proactively pitch stories, press releases, and expert commentary to secure positive media coverage.
  • Monitor media coverage, analyze performance, and report on PR impact.
  • Prepare Bio Phorum spokespeople for media interviews and public appearances, including preparing briefing materials, presentation decks and guiding on key messages.
Content Creation and Management
  • Write, edit, and distribute high-quality content, including white papers, op-eds, blog posts, and social media updates to optimize media interest in Bio Phorum material.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure content is accurate, consistent, and aligned with organizational strategies.
Conference Management
  • Identify and evaluate industry conferences and events that align with Bio Phorum’s strategic goals.
  • Manage end-to‑end planning for company participation, including exhibition design, speaking opportunities, and sponsor ships.
  • Coordinate logistics, budgets, and vendor relationships for events.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and high‑quality presence at all conferences.
  • Work with colleagues across the organization to ensure the impact of conference attendance is recorded and optimized.
  • Analyze event ROI and recommend improvements for future participation.
Successful Applicant
  • Proven experience in media relations, journalism, or communications, ideally within Life Sciences.
  • Hands‑on experience with conference planning and execution.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific issues into clear, compelling messages.
  • Knowledge of media monitoring tools and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with industry trends and the biopharma conference landscape.
  • Budget management and negotiation skills.
  • Commercial mindset, with the ability to thrive in a face‑based, growing business.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solutions‑oriented approach, with the ability to think strategically and act tactically.
  • Experience working with senior leaders and acting as a trusted advisor.
Location

This is a home‑based role, with expected travel in order to participate in customer and organisational events. While Bio Phorum is a UK based business, ad‑hoc international travel may be required.
