This role will help to shape and build the UK strategy, supporting the Data & Analytics Director, Regional VP Enterprise Marketing & Data and the ELT on consumer behaviour and trends to give strategic direction and insights that will help build and execute a winning strategy.
Strategic Insight Leadership- Lead the Insights function within the Enterprise Marketing & Data (EM&D) team, building and activating the consumer insights strategy across Consumer, Channel and Category pillars.
- Shape and evolve the region's insight agenda, spanning innovation and trend forecasting, consumer segmentation, cultural relevancy, shopper behavior, and brand health tracking.
- Own the development and delivery of regular insights communications, including a region-wide newsletter, ensuring insights are cascaded effectively across brand teams.
- Power ELC’s portfolio of 29 brands across Makeup, Skincare, Fragrance and Haircare with actionable insights rooted in consumer behavior, market performance, and emerging trends.
- Lead activation of the Channel and Competitor Insights pillar, tracking and reporting on evolving consumer shopping habits and competitor strategies.
- Execute the Category Pillar, delivering growth-focused insights by category and subcategory, including ingredient trends, product claims, and formulation preferences.
- Integrate first- and third-party data (e.g. CRM, NPD, IRI) to build cohesive, data-backed consumer stories that inform strategy and brand planning.
- Be the key contact for all regional brand teams on insight requests, research design, and strategic support.
- Collaborate with Global Innovation, Trend, and Category Insights teams, Global Retail, and Corporate Marketing Analytics to ensure cohesion and knowledge sharing.
- Line manage 2 direct reports, driving performance, development, and transformation across the Insights team.
- Oversee the Corporate Consumer Insights budget for the region, ensuring optimal use of resources and value from suppliers.
- Lead the implementation and rollout of new tools and systems (e.g. social listening, search listening, trend prediction), ensuring they are embedded across the business with appropriate training.
- Proven experience in leading an insights function or equivalent role with deep knowledge across consumer, category, and channel insights.
- Strong capability in using qualitative and quantitative methods to extract and activate insights that drive commercial decision-making.
- Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and external agencies with strong influencing and communication skills.
- Ability to synthesise first- and third-party data to tell compelling, data-backed consumer stories.
- Confidence in leading team transformation and coaching direct reports to success.
- Comfortable presenting strategies and insight narratives to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
