12 hours per day, flexible to cover both day and night shifts

The purpose of this role

We are looking for 4x Operations Trainers to work across all shifts, who are passionate about developing people and helping individuals reach their full potential. This person will play a key role in building capability across our factory by delivering high‑quality, hands‑on training that supports safe, consistent, and efficient operations. Strengthening performance across all production areas, the role helps reduce operational risk, increase consistency, and support long‑term site success.

The Operations Trainer is responsible for developing the technical skills, food safety knowledge, and overall competence of production colleagues across the fish manufacturing site; improving the onboarding experience for new starters, ensuring they receive clear, structured, and effective training from day one.

Role & Responsibilities

Food Safety, Compliance & Critical Control Checks

  • Train colleagues on all key food safety checks, including product safety, label accuracy, and contamination controls.
  • Ensure operators understand and correctly perform Critical Control Point (CCP) checks as part of their daily responsibilities.
  • Deliver full in‑house training to maintain safe and compliant working practices.

Advanced Machine Operation Training

  • Train staff in setting up, running, and troubleshooting a range of production machinery used in fish processing and packing.
  • Coach operators through machine changeovers, adjustments, and basic fault‑finding to support efficient line performance.
  • Build technical confidence across all lines and shifts.

Quality & Process Control Training

  • Train colleagues to complete weight, label, packaging, and product quality checks accurately.
  • Ensure operators understand how to record traceability, yield, and performance data correctly.
  • Promote high‑quality standards and right‑first‑time behaviour.

Packaging & Material Handling

  • Provide training on label and film changes, printing tasks, and material preparation.
  • Coach staff on safe handling of fish products, including decanting, portioning, and correct material flow.

Multi‑Area Support & Communication

  • Deliver training across production lines, goods‑in, and despatch areas.
  • Work closely with Team Leaders, Technical, Hygiene and Engineering teams to identify training needs and prioritise development.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date training records.
What experiences, knowledge and capabilities do I need to demonstrate?
  • Experience in food manufacturing is preferred; however, equivalent experience gained in other regulated or fast‑paced production settings will also be suitable.
  • Understanding of production machinery, CCPs, and quality checks.
  • Previous training, mentoring, or coaching experience.
  • Willingness to continue developing through internal and external courses.
Process

The Operations Trainer is a new position within the business to support the ongoing growth and development of our colleagues. We are looking for 4x Operations Trainers to work across all shift rotations within the business, therefore application and interview dates have been pre‑scheduled as follows, and all successful candidates will be required to attend the assessment day below.
