Stores Operative

Position: Stores Operative (Contract)
This role supports effective material supply within the depot to ensure the smooth delivery of train maintenance activities. Responsibilities include identifying, picking, issuing and despatching materials, maintaining accurate stock records within the materials management system, and carrying out regular stock checks. The post holder will support stores efficiency, manage waste in line with environmental policies, operate forklift vehicles where trained, and ensure full compliance with company processes, health and safety requirements and COSHH regulations.

The role also involves working closely with depot colleagues, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure materials are available, facilities are secure and maintained to a high standard, and daily tasks are completed in line with the duty matrix and operational priorities.

A valid in date forklift licence will be required for this role.

Please note this role is on a shift Pattern which involves days/nights and possibly weekends. Hourly rate is for all shifts
