Premier Recruitment Group are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business based in Dartford.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Team Leader / Assembly Operator to join their production team. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with strong assembly experience who enjoys motivating and supporting a team while remaining actively involved on the shop floor.
The Role
The Team Leader will act as a key leadership resource for team members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and guidance. You will ensure correct procedures are followed, quality standards are maintained and production targets are achieved. You may also be required to share technical knowledge, assembly techniques and best practice to improve quality and efficiency.
This is a hands-on role that includes building products alongside the team when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support and motivate team members to ensure production targets and customer demands are consistently met
- Work closely with Supervisors and fellow Team Leaders to allocate labour and prioritise workloads effectively
- Ensure all team members are fully trained and competent to carry out their roles
- Identify and resolve day-to-day production issues using basic problem-solving techniques
- Escalate concerns relating to quality, processes, equipment, materials or staffing to the Production Supervisor
- Liaise with Production, Materials and Warehouse teams to address and resolve operational issues
- Monitor and maintain standard working practices across the cell
- Communicate regularly with the team to provide updates, direction and feedback
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and efficiency projects
- Remain hands-on when required, assisting with the assembly and build of products
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and documented work instructions
- Follow detailed assembly processes accurately and consistently
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised work environment
- Promote and uphold Health & Safety standards at all times
Skills, Experience & Person Specification
- Proven ability to follow technical instructions, drawings and diagrams accurately
- Experience working to tight deadlines while maintaining high levels of quality and accuracy
- Strong leadership and team-coordination skills
- Confident decision-maker with a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Computer literate with the ability to use basic systems and software
- Reliable, conscientious and committed to high standards of work
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to take on a variety of duties
- Strong communication skills at all levels

Job Specifics & Benefits
- Hourly rate: 13.03 - 13.95 per hour (depending on experience)
- Working hours:
08:00 - 16:30, Monday to Friday - 24 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing with service)
