Initial 6 weeks training on Monday - Thursday, 06:00 - 17:45/ 17:15

Hours of Work

Weekend Manufacturing Operators will initially join a Days only shift, with night work expected in the near future. You must be able to commit to both DAYS & NIGHTS on a two-week rotation to be considered for this role. Please note these hours are mandatory.
INITIAL TRAINING:
Mon-Thurs, 42.5 hours p/w @ £13.27 p/h

Friday to Sunday (06:00 - 17:45), 33 hours p/w @ £17.09 p/h

We are currently recruiting Weekend Manufacturing Operators to work in a busy clean production environment on behalf of a global telecommunications company. We are looking for people who can produce high quality precision work, have an eye for detail and are willing to learn.

Weekend Manufacturing Operators are responsible for following documented processes to enable the safe and accurate mechanical or electro‑mechanical assembly of subsea and land‑based telecommunications equipment, which may also require fibre optic handling & splicing.

Full, paid training is provided in our state‑of‑the‑art training school based in Greenwich, SE London. Initial training will start on weekdays (Mon‑Thurs) and you can expect to move to the weekend shift between 3‑6 weeks.

Previous experience in roles of a similar nature would be particularly advantageous.

Weekend Manufacturing Operator's Duties
  • Safety Compliance
    :
    Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Assembly
    :
    Assemble components or products according to specified guidelines & drawings.
  • Following Procedures
    :
    Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Machine Operating
    :
    Operate and monitor production specific equipment and/or machinery as part of the manufacturing process.
  • Record-Keeping
    :
    Maintain accurate records of production activities and product specifications.
  • Material Handling
    :
    Manage the handling, storage, and transportation of materials within the manufacturing area.
  • Quality Control
    :
    Inspect products for quality and ensure they meet established standards.
  • Troubleshooting
    :
    Identify and elevate issues with equipment or processes to ensure smooth operations and product quality.
  • Collaboration
    :
    Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to achieve production goals.
  • Continuous Improvement
    :
    Participate in efforts to improve efficiency, quality, and overall manufacturing processes.

The position may also involve tasks such as manual handling, lifting of heavy objects, manual dexterity, and periods of sitting or standing.
